Bachelor's degree from an ASHA-accredited university, active Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) license and minimum 1+ years speech-language pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A school-based Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) position is available in Canon City, CO, serving students from Kindergarten through 12th grade. This part-time role runs from August 15, 2025, through May 22, 2026, offering approximately 20 hours per week across two buildingsan elementary school (K-5) and a high schoollocated about 7-8 minutes apart.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver speech therapy services primarily at the elementary level, supporting a caseload of 55-65 students, with about 10 speech-only cases at the elementary level and the rest having speech as a secondary disability.
  • Provide consultation services at the high school level, focusing on augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) device support.
  • Collaborate closely with a team of four experienced Speech-Language Pathologists known for their strong collaboration and continuity in the district.
  • Utilize Infinite Campus software for managing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Adapt to part-time scheduling needs with the possibility of working at least 80% time at the elementary level or 20% time at the high school level.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • SLPA certification or pending licensure is acceptable.
  • Experience working within K-12 educational settings preferred.
  • Comfort with consultative roles and managing AAC devices.
  • Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment.
  • Flexibility to split time between two school buildings.
