Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Provide urgent and compassionate care in a dynamic emergency room setting located in Milford, ME. This contract opportunity is ideal for a registered nurse with current Maine or compact RN licensure and certifications who thrives in a fast-paced environment offering complex patient needs across all age groups.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct initial and ongoing age-appropriate nursing assessments and reassessments.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and physician orders.
  • Administer medications correctly following safety protocols and evaluate patient responses.
  • Collaborate effectively with the healthcare team by communicating patient status and changes.
  • Document patient care activities thoroughly and maintain compliance with hospital policies.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and bedside rounding.
  • Support hospital quality improvement initiatives and engage in emergency preparedness drills and responses.
  • Maintain a safe environment for patients and staff, ensuring equipment functionality.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Current RN license for Maine or compact state licensure.
  • BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
  • Immunizations up to date: varicella, HepB (or declination), MMR, Tdap, PPD within 12 months, and flu shot during flu season.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Physical ability to perform nursing duties including lifting up to 30 lbs and exposure management to infectious agents.
  • Previous emergency room nursing experience preferred.
  • BSN preferred.
