Provide urgent and compassionate care in a dynamic emergency room setting located in Milford, ME. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct initial and ongoing age-appropriate nursing assessments and reassessments.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and physician orders.
- Administer medications correctly following safety protocols and evaluate patient responses.
- Collaborate effectively with the healthcare team by communicating patient status and changes.
- Document patient care activities thoroughly and maintain compliance with hospital policies.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and bedside rounding.
- Support hospital quality improvement initiatives and engage in emergency preparedness drills and responses.
- Maintain a safe environment for patients and staff, ensuring equipment functionality.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current RN license for Maine or compact state licensure.
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
- Immunizations up to date: varicella, HepB (or declination), MMR, Tdap, PPD within 12 months, and flu shot during flu season.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Physical ability to perform nursing duties including lifting up to 30 lbs and exposure management to infectious agents.
- Previous emergency room nursing experience preferred.
- BSN preferred.
