Why This Role Matters


As the Land Development Manager, your technical expertise, passion for development and leadership will bring projects from concept to completion. From project inception, you’ll guide every step of the process — managing budgets, timelines, approvals, contractors, and quality standards.


Key Responsibilities


Entitlement and Development Oversight

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders during the entitlement process, identifying potential areas for cost savings, resolving engineering issues and assisting as needed with meetings. Secure permits, working closely with city, county, and state agencies.
  • Oversee all phases of residential land development — grading, utilities, paving, stormwater management, landscaping, and community turnover.
  • Ensure work is completed in accordance with the development plans, meeting all governmental requirements while also meeting Centra’s quality standards and safety regulations.
  • Knowledgeable and current on local and state environmental requirements.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for contractors, utility providers, inspectors, and community representatives.
  • Partner with internal teams to ensure smooth transitions from land acquisition to construction launch.
  • Assemble, communicate, and carry out accurate schedules.
  • Schedule all necessary inspections, including pre-construction meetings with contractors, Cities and other agencies/governmental authorities.
  • Oversee bidding process, including selecting contractors to bid, analyzing bids and making final recommendations on contracting.
  • Develop and control budgets for multiple active projects. Tracking progress, anticipate roadblocks, and keep everything moving on time and on budget


HOA Management Oversight

  • Identify and select HOA management companies for new communities.
  • Provide ongoing oversight to ensure HOA management aligns with Centra’s standards, community vision, and homeowner satisfaction.


Who You Are

  • Experienced in residential land development, civil engineering, or construction management.
  • Skilled at managing multiple large-scale projects at once.
  • Adept at working with regulatory agencies and navigating zoning, permitting, and compliance requirements.
  • A natural communicator who builds trust and maintains strong professional relationships.
  • Strategic and solutions-focused — you anticipate challenges before they happen.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Real Estate Development, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in residential land development.
  • Proficiency with Google Suite and project management tools.
