Job Details
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute end-to-end bi-weekly payroll processing using Paycom, ensuring all employee data is accurately reflected, including wages, deductions, and new hire entries.
- Maintain strict quality checks to verify the correctness of pay rates, tax withholdings, and benefit enrollments.
- Monitor and reconcile electronic timesheets and supervisor approvals within the payroll system.
- Administer off-cycle and termination payments, including manual check processing, in accordance with company procedures.
- Prepare and transmit Payroll-Based Journal (PBJ) data to meet CMS regulatory guidelines.
- Coordinate ACH payments for employee retirement contributions on a bi-weekly basis.
- Compile and report nursing staffing hours using CDPH612 reporting tools.
- Audit and reconcile insurance carrier invoices monthly; assign correct general ledger codes and prepare payments.
- Respond to and process employment-related claims from EDD and other agencies.
- Administer wage garnishments in compliance with court orders and agency guidelines.
- Ensure alignment with wage and hour laws, including overtime, break, and meal period regulations.
- Maintain organized payroll documentation for audits and regulatory inspections in accordance with internal policies and legal requirements.
- Support internal and external audit preparations and assist in data compilation for compliance reviews.
- Regularly validate employee deductions for taxes, benefits, retirement plans, and garnishments.
- Address employee questions about payroll, pay statements, and tax forms, and guide them on how to use Paycom’s employee portal.
- Work collaboratively with HR, Finance, and department heads to identify and resolve payroll issues.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of payroll processing experience, preferably with Paycom or a similar platform
- Strong understanding of payroll laws and compliance requirements
- High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
- Effective communicator with cross-functional team collaboration experience
