We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant for a position located in Virginia Beach, Virginia. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records through comprehensive accounting practices. This position offers an opportunity to work with a growing company and contribute to key financial operations, including reporting, reconciliations, and data analysis.


Responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate financial statements in compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

• Oversee the month-end closing process, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.

• Conduct thorough account reconciliations to maintain accuracy across all financial records.

• Utilize Sage accounting software for data entry, general ledger management, and reporting.

• Develop and manage complex Excel reports, including pivot tables and formulas, to support financial analysis.

• Collaborate with internal teams to support audits and special financial projects.

• Analyze financial data and provide insights to inform business decisions and strategies.

• Maintain compliance with regulatory guidelines and ensure proper documentation of financial transactions.

• Balance priorities across multiple entities to ensure smooth operational functionality.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field, with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
• Proven expertise in financial reporting, month-end closings, and account reconciliations.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and complex formulas.
• Hands-on experience with Sage accounting software, including Sage Intacct.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to adapt quickly to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to collaborate effectively.
• Familiarity with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions.
