Warehouse Order Selector (1st Shift)

Location: Fredericksburg, VA 22408
Pay: $17.59 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Job Type: W2 Contract (Potential to Extend/Convert to Permanent)

Position Summary

The Order Selector is responsible for accurately picking merchandise and preparing store orders within a fast-paced warehouse environment for a large, nationwide retail pharmacy chain. This role plays a key part in ensuring store orders are completed on time while maintaining strong safety and quality standards.

What You’ll Do

• Pick store orders using a tablet or pick ticket, including item locations, descriptions, and quantities
• Gather and place merchandise into totes or boxes for shipment
• Load and move totes or boxes weighing up to 30–50 lbs using safe lifting techniques
• Ensure accuracy and efficiency when completing orders for store delivery
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following safety procedures
• Perform general housekeeping to keep aisles and work areas clear
• Follow standard operating procedures to meet productivity and quality expectations
• Enter data related to picking and packaging tasks
• Assist with additional duties as assigned by a supervisor

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of warehouse experience required
• Ability to read, write, and count accurately
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
• Basic problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Experience with Aptia is a plus
• Must be able to become certified on required warehouse equipment

Key Responsibilities & Skills

• Select and remove merchandise from shelves using pick documents
• Properly pack items into totes or boxes, including labeling and tagging when required
• Apply EAS tags and labels as needed
• Seal and label completed orders and move them onto conveyors
• Support high-volume operations, including overtime when needed

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

• Lift up to 35 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionally
• Frequent bending, reaching, and stooping
• Continuous standing, walking, and climbing throughout the shift
• Warehouse environment with varying temperatures, moving equipment, and conveyor systems

Safety Expectations

• Follow all warehouse safety guidelines and procedures at all times
• Never step on or reach into conveyor systems
• Immediately report issues and use emergency stop procedures when necessary
