We’re looking for you.

The EKG Technician assists physicians by providing the cardiovascular image reports. This position operates with image technology by performing electrocardiogram tests, and monitoring heart performance while assisting in the diagnoses of heart ailment associated with heart and blood vessels. The EKG Technician generates EKG reports, edits the final diagnosis and forwards the test reports to the cardiovascular consultant for further analysis. The EKG Technician is also responsible for maintaining EKG processes for order completion, providing patient care within the scope of practice and functions in support of other department duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Perform EKG’s
  • Maintain EKG records from completion and translation to billing
  • Participates in performance improvement activities
  • Communicates well with other departments and physicians’ office staff
  • Able to problem-solve, trouble shoot EKG-EMR integration
  • Provide direct care in accordance with treatment plans, as directed by physician orders.
  • Accompany patients to various treatments throughout the facility.
  • Perform and assist with patient lifts, transfers, positioning and ambulation.
  • Observe report and document questionable patient conditions to the care provider on duty.
  • Assist with patient meals and bathing as directed.
  • Performs nursing care according to the population served on the unit as referenced in the Administrative, Scope of Services Policy.
  • Performs other duties as needed or assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Current Kansas Certified Nurse Aide license
  • Current BLS certification

Preferred:

  • One year previous experience with EKGs
