Assignment Type: Travel Contract
Duration: 13 Weeks
Schedule & Shift Details
- Night Shift: 3x12 Hours | 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM
- Occasional Rotation: Day Shift | 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM
- Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend
- On-Call: Required
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) with advanced critical care experience to support a high-acuity clinical environment. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in ECMO, ventilator management, and emergency respiratory care, delivering high-quality patient care across various clinical settings.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive respiratory care, including assessment, treatment, and monitoring of patients
- Manage advanced ventilator settings and support weaning protocols
- Assist with airway management, including intubation support, suctioning, and tracheostomy care
- Perform and interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs)
- Administer respiratory medications and therapies
- Support ECMO therapy, including monitoring and troubleshooting
- Assist with patient transport (intra- and interdepartmental)
- Respond to respiratory emergencies and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
- Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to clinical protocols
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapist experience
- Minimum 1 year of ECMO Specialist experience (required)
- Active State Respiratory Therapy License (or pending at submission, active by start date)
- First-time travelers accepted (must have ECMO experience)
Required Certifications
- CRT (Certified Respiratory Therapist)
- RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist)
- BLS
- ACLS
- PALS
Clinical Skills & Experience
- ECMO: VV ECMO preferred
- Ventilator Management: BiPAP, CPAP, SIMV, weaning protocols
- ABG Interpretation & Arterial Punctures
- Airway Management: Intubation assist, suctioning, tracheostomy care
- Oxygen Therapy: HFNC, ET Tube, Trach collar, T-piece
- Medication Administration: Albuterol, Atrovent, Nitric Oxide, Pulmicort, etc.
- Nebulizer Treatments: Cold, heated, ultrasonic
- Patient Transport: Intra/interdepartmental
