Accounting Clerk
This is an exceptional opportunity to work with an Oil&Gas Services company in San Antonio, Texas
Job Description:
Pay Rate: $28/hr with Medical, Dental and Vision under a W-2 Contract to Hire
Performs accounting and administrative support in Financial Service as related to such accounting and financial control functions as recording, classifying, data processing and management, reporting, analyzing and interpreting business transactions and costs.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Reviews and monitors business transactions to ensure they have been properly recorded.
Performs data entry in accounting systems.
Prepares accounting or financial transactions and/or journal entries and vouchers.
Performs basic statistical/variance analysis on accounts/reports.
Performs account reconciliations, some moderately complex.
Performs related administrative tasks including filling out all associated forms, documents, letters and memorandums.
In addition, most of these roles involve balancing automated, computerized sub-systems and ensuring integrity of system data.
Coordinates notary renewals for the company
Assists on special projects and teams as requested by management.
Completes cross-training on other related functions as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
Some college courses in Business Administration with concentration in Finance, Accounting, Auditing or related field from an accredited university.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Package, including word processing, spreadsheets, database, presentation software, electronic mail and scheduling.
Highly proficient in data input, transaction processing and data extraction with a high degree of accuracy.
Ability to apply some in depth knowledge in fundamental accounting and bookkeeping concepts.
Has held the position of F.S. Accounting Clerk 2 OR possesses equivalent accounting experience or skill sets required for the position.
Ability to solve problems and/or research and offer solutions to management.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
Ability to prepare written summaries of analysis and findings for management.
Proficiency in data input, transaction processing and data extraction.
Ability to work evenings and weekends as scheduled by supervision to meet work deadlines and schedules.
Knowledge of SAP or similar ERP Enterprise Resource Planning Software such as Peoplesoft, J.D. Edwards, Oracle, etc.
