Job Type: Contract
Duration: 13 Weeks
Location: Bronx, NY (Remote after training)
Pay Rate: $35 – $38 per hour

Work Arrangement

• Hybrid to Remote: Initial 1–2 weeks of onsite training, followed by fully remote work

• Transition to remote may vary based on performance and readiness

Position Overview

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Certified Medical Coder with strong expertise in Outpatient and Emergency Department (ED) coding to support a high-volume acute care environment. This role requires advanced knowledge of coding guidelines, payer requirements, and federal billing regulations, with the ability to work independently while maintaining high accuracy and productivity standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform accurate and compliant coding for Outpatient and ED encounters

• Assign appropriate ICD-10-CM, CPT-4, and related coding classifications

• Ensure compliance with official coding guidelines, payer policies, and federal billing regulations

• Research and resolve complex or ambiguous coding scenarios

• Maintain productivity and quality benchmarks with minimal supervision

• Utilize encoder and coding systems, including EPIC and 3M/HDS

• Support quality assurance initiatives and assist with coder education as needed

Required Qualifications

• 3–4+ years of Outpatient medical coding experience

• Emergency Department coding experience – Required

• Inpatient coding experience preferred

• Proficiency with EPIC and 3M/HDS coding applications

• Expert knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT-4, and outpatient/ED coding guidelines

• Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and disease processes

• Excellent computer skills (MS Word, Excel, encoder tools)

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Education & Certification Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED – Required

• One or more of the following certifications:

  • CCS

  • CPC

  • RHIA / RHIT

  • CCP
