In these current roles, the Senior Tax Manager is responsible for providing tax and consulting services to business clients with pass through entities and to their business owners.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs tax planning, preparation and research for pass through entities (S-corps, LLCs, Partnerships) and the business owners' individual returns
- Contributes to client satisfaction by providing timely services and work product
- Tax Compliance
- Manages client engagements, supervises and reviews work of team staff members, work closely with clients as well as internal managers and partners
- Conducts top level review and resolves all tax issues with client; involving specialists where appropriate
- Monitoring engagement process and actual time incurred vs. budget with assistance of Senior
- Manages client relationships & expectations
- Provides advice to clients in a timely manner
- Identifies when research is needed and performs such research; clearly and concisely frames issues to be researched; and clearly and concisely reports the analysis
- Introduces and develops new or improved ideas to improve the position of clients, the Firm, or Firm personnel, e.g., by reducing taxes or expenses or providing non-tax benefits
- Reviews studies of tax implications and offers clients alternative courses of action
- Identifies and leverages lessons learned on prior projects, and offers input on how to improve processes and methods
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree, required; major in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Statistics, preferred
- Master's degree in Accounting or Taxation, preferred
Experience:
- Significant knowledge of taxation related to personal income, as well as taxation of entities owned by business owners (partnership and corporate taxation), is required.
- 10+ years of relevant tax experience in Public Accounting public accounting is required.
- Strong experience with working on individual, partnership, S-corporation, and private foundation tax/consulting clients.
- Prior supervisory experience, required
License/Certifications:
- CPA certification or Enrolled Agent ("EA") required
- Possession of other professional degrees or certifications applicable to role are preferred
