Job Summary:
The Resident Advisor is a vital leadership role in the Revolution Hawaii discipleship program, providing guidance, support, and oversight for students as they navigate daily routines and community living. They help maintain a structured, Christ-centered environment that promotes personal growth, accountability, and spiritual development, making this position integral to the program’s success. The Resident Advisor is responsible for managing the daily routines of the program, ensuring students adhere to schedules for classes, activities, and responsibilities. This includes creating and overseeing a weekly housekeeping schedule to ensure shared living spaces are clean and organized, fostering a
sense of ownership and teamwork among students.

The Resident Advisor is also responsible for leading morning devotions and prayer, setting the spiritual tone for the day and encouraging students to grow in their faith and relationship with God. They help manage shared spaces, mediate conflicts, and encourage healthy communication, ensuring house rules and program guidelines are respected. The Resident Advisor also facilitates group discussions, organizes fellowship opportunities, and builds relationships with students, cultivating unity and mutual respect within the community.

Essential Qualifications:
• Valid Hawaii driver’s license
• Must have at least 3 years of Urban or World Mission experience or be a graduate of Revolution Hawaii.
• Basic knowledge and experience of The Salvation Army beliefs, practices, and programs.
• Previous experience in youth work, especially within The Salvation Army, including working at the street level with the homeless.
• Ability to work well under pressure with attention to detail and confidentiality.
• Experience in providing leadership in the scope of team ministry.
• Experience in leading people and the ability to work well with campus staff, the public, and children that we serve.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
• Coordination of community life functions of Revolution Hawaii that foster a sense of community among the participants such as organizing group activities and meetings, ensuring team members have what they need for daily life and handling any conflicts that arise.
• Teach classes as assigned
• Participate in further training as agreed upon with Directors
• Develop and implement informal worship and prayer opportunities
• Participate as a team leader of a ministry team as assigned by the Directors
• Assist in the development and implementation of mission opportunities
• Assist in development of curriculum vital for delegates
• Responsible for being the house supervisor for female delegates overseeing the living space for female program participants, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
She is responsible for checking in with female students to address concerns, enforcing Revolution Hawaii rules and providing emotional and spiritual support.
• Responsible for leading a spiritual formation group: A small group focused on spiritual growth and faith development. This requires leading discussions on faith topics, praying with and mentoring group members and planning and facilitating group activities.
• Drive for Revolution Hawaii activities as necessary and maintain Revolution Hawaii vehicles
• Assist in recruitment as assigned by directors including reaching out to potential applicants, conducting interviews and/or answering questions and coordinating with directors to develop recruitment strategies.
• Participate in staff meetings
• Conducts interviews with potential delegates as assigned by Directors
• Assist in seminars, retreats and conferences as assigned. Helping organize and lead special events for the program. This may require setting up for events, leading breakout sessions or discussions and providing logistical support during events.
• Participate as a part of the leadership team and model Christian ethics
• Monitors and assists in coordination of calendars for directors and overall program
• Prepares reports as required including documenting activities, challenges, and progress for the program. This may also include writing summaries of group activities, track attendance and engagement and submitting reports to leadership.
• Assists directors in the preparation and annual update of Revolution Hawaii handbook
• Assists in preparation of program materials
• May be asked to participate in other ministry aspects to ensure the camp runs smoothly. This may involve covering shifts if another staff member is unavailable, helping with event setup or cleaning guest accommodations, assisting in the Kitchen and assisting in emergency situations.
