Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A contract opportunity is available for a Visually Impaired Teacher to support students in a school setting located in Quincy, MA. This role involves providing specialized instruction to visually impaired students, ensuring accessibility to educational materials, and supporting their academic growth within the classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to visually impaired students
- Adapt instructional materials to meet the unique needs of visually impaired learners
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, specialists, and families to promote student success
- Utilize assistive technology and other resources to enhance learning experiences
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
Desired Qualifications:
- Certification or licensure in teaching students with visual impairments
- Experience working with visually impaired children in an educational setting
- Strong knowledge of Braille and assistive technology tools
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
