The Surgical Service Department at James A. Haley Veterans Hospital in Tampa, Florida, is actively recruiting a Board Certified or Board Eligible Urologist to join our growing team of dedicated professionals. Position Responsibilities:

We seek a skilled and compassionate Urologist with a broad clinical background and commitment to excellence. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing direct patient care for a diverse and complex Veteran population.

  • Performing comprehensive urologic evaluations, developing treatment plans, and managing genitourinary disorders.

  • Conducting open, endoscopic, and minimally invasive (including robotic) surgical procedures.

  • Performing neuromodulation and placement/revision of urologic prosthetics.

  • Participating in on-call coverage on a rotating basis.

  • Mentoring and training urology residents (PGY2PGY5) in our academic teaching program. Optional opportunities exist to engage in research and didactic instruction.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Board Certified / Board Eligible in Urology

  • 13 years of recent surgical experience, including robotic procedures

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary: $365,000 $400,000 per year

  • Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP): Eligible position (student loan repayment assistance)

  • Paid Time Off: 5055 days annually (including 26 vacation days, 13 sick days, 11 federal holidays, and possible CME leave)

  • Insurance: Comprehensive federal insurance packages (health, dental, vision, life, long-term care)

  • Retirement: Federal pension (FERS) with 401(k) and up to 5% VA matching

  • CME Reimbursement: Up to $1,000 per year for board-certified full-time physicians

  • Malpractice Coverage: Provided at no cost, including tail coverage

  • Licensure: Valid unrestricted license from any U.S. state or territory

  • Moonlighting: Permitted (no employment contract restrictions)

  • No State Income Tax in Florida
