Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years Tele RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Providing expert nursing care in a dynamic clinical environment, this role involves caring for patients on rehab and surgical/respiratory floors within a well-regarded medical center in San Antonio, TX. With a patient mix from rehab and surgical units, this position offers the opportunity to apply nursing skills across diverse patient needs while utilizing critical thinking and leadership in clinical decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care following the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
  • Manage complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social patient and family needs with professionalism and empathy.
  • Administer medications and treatments following established protocols, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of patient history, symptoms, medications, and nursing care provided.
  • Assess patient and family learning needs, providing clear education and identifying additional resources.
  • Delegate and assign tasks to other care providers to optimize patient care and clinical workflow.
  • Uphold professional nursing standards aligned with ANA Scope and Standards of Practice and organizational competencies.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a related nursing specialty.
  • Proficiency with Epic electronic health records is preferred.
  • Experience with tracheostomy/ventilator care and high-flow oxygen therapy is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Rehabilitation nursing experience recommended.
  • Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
  • Valid Texas RN licensure or compact nursing license.

Schedule & Location:

  • Day shift: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
  • Full-time, contract position based in San Antonio, TX.
