Essential Functions:
1. Maintains student personal folders, recording performance data including test scores, evaluations, attendance, incident reports, achievement awards, and any other pertinent information concerning the students.
2. Maintains cleanliness of the classroom including materials and equipment.
3. Teaches food preparation to students through demonstration, discussions, and individualized training plans.
4. Directs and coordinates testing of recipes and development of new uses for equipment or product.
5. Teaches students the correct name and use of kitchen utensils and equipment. Teach correct operation and proper care of equipment.
6. Assist students in setting up cost records to determine most economical method of menu planning and food purchasing.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree with three years’ experience in commercial or institutional food preparation or two years’ experience as a Food Service Training Instructor required.
Culinary Arts Instructor
OR
Associate Degree in Culinary Arts with Vocational Teacher Certification desired. Seven years’ experience in commercial or institutional food preparation or a Certificate from an accredited culinary institute two years’ experience as a Food Service Training Instructor required.
SERV Safe Food Handler’s Certificate required.
Current with culinary trends, techniques and implementations – Professional Culinary industry certification and industry-related degree preferred.

Licenses or
Certificates:
- State Teacher's Certification preferred.
- A valid Regular Driver License is required.
