THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN STOCKTON, CA.
The Fleet Manager is responsible for buying and selling all non-Caterpillar assets utilized for rent to ensure the division meets their short- and long-term return on investment goals. The position is responsible for developing and maintaining excellent relationships with all vendors and evaluating the right manufacturer’s equipment to enhance CRS’s customer satisfaction. The Fleet Manager will need to be aware of industry trends and be engaged with all branches to understand current equipment needs by geographic area.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform requires a self-motivated, organized and detail-oriented individual with the ability to multi-task and communicate effectively with a variety of people. Must be able to comprehend a broad range of information, prioritize, and work efficiently and successfully with minimal supervision. This position will get into the minute details and critical thinking is required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Have a relationship with all allied vendors for pricing, quoting, ordering assets, consignment, and for parts and warranty assistance. Place all new allied machine orders with various vendors. Arrange shipment to HOC store’s, track ordered units, review and approve all vendor invoices. Also looking for industry trends as seen by vendors.
- Negotiating skills to ensure the best value for Holt and maintaining excellent relations with vendors.
- Work with the Construction and Technology Division (CTD) to get new Cat units and attachments ordered, received, and shipped to the appropriate store(s).
- Work with CTD to set specs on all Cat models going into the CRS fleet.
- Understand the market needs by working with the sales team and store managers.
- Lead and participate in monthly inventory counts.
- Promote a Return on investment culture for assets that include cost management and healthy rental rates.
- Work with Division VP, CTD and Caterpillar Reps on annual fleet planning and budgeting.
- Price all rental fleet assets monthly. Develop list(s) of used Cat and Allied assets for sale, work with marketing on creating flyers, and posting said items on our on-line sources. This position is responsible for equipment disposition.
- Utilize, enhance, and act on several existing reports to help manage the fleet.
- The ability to work in multiple computer systems to put items on order, receive them, complete PDI’s, and all specs of units ordered entered. Along with the ability to create new category groups, new models, and all tied to rental rate accuracy.

COMPENSATION
Pay Range: $72,500 - $105,000 Annually
Pay Range Dependent on Knowledge, Skills, and Ability.
Exempt, semi-monthly salary with excellent company paid benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, long-term disability, 401(k), profit sharing, nine paid holidays, paid vacation, and paid sick time.
