About the Role:
\n\n
As a Nurse Lactation Consultant at Sinai Hospital, you will be responsible for supporting new parents by providing evidence-based education, hands-on assistance, and compassionate guidance to promote successful breastfeeding and infant nutrition. This role collaborates closely with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to assess needs, address challenges, and ensure families feel confident and supported throughout their hospital stay.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide individualized lactation assessment, education, and hands-on support to breastfeeding parents and infants.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other allied health professionals to develop and implement individualized feeding plans.
- Document consultations, track outcomes, and ensure care aligns with hospital policies and evidence-based practices.
- Provides lactation management competency training for new staff and students, with ongoing education for physicians and interdisciplinary patient care teams.

Requirements:
\n\n
- \n\t
- Education: Associate’s degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s preferred
- Licensure: Maryland Registered Nurse License
- Certification: American Heart Association BLS Certification, International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC)
- Experience: A minimum of 2 years recent RN experience in maternal newborn care required
