Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, active Occupational Therapist license and 1+ year of Occupational Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A contract opportunity is available for an Occupational Therapist in a school setting located in Orono, ME. This role involves providing specialized therapeutic services to support students' functional and developmental needs within an educational environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Conducting assessments to evaluate students' motor skills, sensory processing, and functional abilities
- Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans to improve students' participation and performance in academic and daily activities
- Collaborating with educators, parents, and other related service providers to support student progress
- Maintaining accurate documentation and reporting in compliance with school policies and regulations
- Participating in team meetings and contributing to the development of individualized education programs (IEPs)
Desired qualifications and experience:
- Valid Occupational Therapy license and certification
- Experience working with school-aged children in an educational or related setting
- Strong knowledge of pediatric OT interventions and educational processes
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to adapt and personalize therapy approaches based on individual student needs
