Job Posting: Nurse Practitioner (Primary Care / Family Practice)


Position Type: Float Nurse Practitioner
Location: Float between Columbus and Bloomington
Schedule:

  • 3–4 days per week
  • Clinic hours range:
  • Monday–Friday: 8:00 AM – 7:00 PM
  • Saturday: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
  • Sunday: 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Every other weekend required
  • Possible holiday rotations


Position Summary

The Nurse Practitioner will work collaboratively with a dedicated clinical care team to provide evidence-based primary and family care to a diverse patient population. This role includes comprehensive patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment, chronic disease management, health counseling, and disposition planning. The Nurse Practitioner will practice autonomously while maintaining strong collaboration with interdisciplinary healthcare professionals and reporting to the Practice Manager.


This is a float position requiring flexibility to support multiple clinic locations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide evidence-based primary and family care, including accurate assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic conditions
  • Deliver patient-centered health counseling and education
  • Perform routine examinations and diagnostic testing to support positive health outcomes
  • Coordinate care with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive treatment plans
  • Encourage patient engagement through preventive care, health screenings, behavioral health support, wellness initiatives, and chronic condition management
  • Manage administrative responsibilities including:
  • Opening and closing the clinic
  • Inventory management
  • Patient follow-up
  • Verifying insurance and collecting payments
  • Maintaining a clean, safe clinical environment
  • Handle patient appointments and ensure efficient clinic flow
  • Uphold safety-sensitive workplace standards at all times


Required Qualifications

  • Candidate questionnaire must be included on resume
  • Master’s degree from an accredited Family Nurse Practitioner program
  • Current National Board Certification
  • Active state license to practice as an Advanced Practice Nurse in the state of employment
  • Current BLS certification (copy required upon offer acceptance)
  • Active DEA registration required at time of offer acceptance
  • Verifiable High School Diploma or GED


Preferred Experience & Skills

  • Minimum of 1 year of recent experience as a Nurse Practitioner in primary care or family medicine
  • Strong understanding of quality measurement and chronic disease management
  • Excellent verbal, written, and electronic communication skills
  • Outstanding organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and proactive problem-solver
  • Ability to work autonomously without direct supervision
  • Comfortable working within a remote-enabled clinical care team environment
  • Proficient with electronic health records and healthcare technology
  • Willingness to obtain multi-state licensure
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate frequently with professional colleagues to ensure high-quality patient care
