The Development Department focuses on securing funding and building relationships to support the organization's mission. This includes activities like fundraising, grant writing, event planning, and constituent relations, all of which aim to generate revenue and ensure the organization's long-term viability.

Job Description

Felton’s Research Content Writer is integral to content generation efforts as a writer, editor, and researcher. This position collaborates with other team members and program personnel to produce impactful content and help respond to public/private funding opportunities. Additionally, the role supports the team by monitoring and tracing public policy changes, supporting content for external marketing opportunities, and performing other duties assigned within the Development framework.

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications

  • Requires a Bachelor's Degree. A concentration in English, Marketing, Journalism, or Communications is strongly preferred. An equivalent combination of training and experience may substitute for education.
  • Excellent writing and editing experience are required. Must demonstrate a proven record of content creation and copyediting, preferably in behavioral health and/or other social services.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate creatively, clearly, and effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize a heavy workload in a dynamic and complex environment to meet deadlines and daily requirements.
  • Ability to provide quality client service to both internal and external contacts regarding matters of a complex nature and to build effective relationships.
  • Ability to research a variety of topics through web and library searches, interviews, and other methods and to translate the knowledge to strategically written collateral.
  • Ability to make presentations to small and/or large groups in an effective manner.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel to produce memos, spreadsheets, slides, and standard work documents.

Job Type: Full-Time

Work Schedule: Hybrid

FLSA Status: Exempt

Salary Range: $73,500 - $78,500 Annually (DOE)
