Job Title: Order Picker
Job Description
The Order Picker plays a key role in the warehouse operation by accurately picking, packing, receiving, and stocking a wide range of plumbing materials. This position works with both large items such as metal and PVC piping and small components like fasteners and end caps, using material handling equipment and RF technology to ensure accurate and efficient order fulfillment.
Responsibilities
- Pick, pack, and stock incoming and outgoing items accurately according to order specifications.
- Use an RF scan gun to locate, verify, and track inventory throughout the warehouse.
- Correctly pull the required item types and quantities for each order.
- Operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, and push carts based on inventory type and load size.
- Organize and maintain the staging area according to priority to support efficient workflow.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area, including sweeping and mopping as needed.
- Operate computers at the will-call booth to process orders and support customer transactions.
- Assist internal and external customers with item look-ups, product availability, and order placement.
- Support shipping, receiving, and inventory control activities as required.
- Handle and maneuver materials weighing up to 100 lbs safely, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
Essential Skills
- Previous warehouse or general labor experience, ideally in order picking or material handling.
- Ability to count accurately and maintain high attention to detail when picking and packing orders.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and maneuver up to 100 lbs safely and repeatedly.
- Experience using RF (radio frequency) devices or RF scan guns for inventory and order processing.
- Ability to operate a pallet jack and willingness to learn and operate a forklift after required training.
- Basic computer skills to operate systems at the will-call booth and for order entry or look-ups.
- Effective English communication skills to interact with internal teams and external customers.
- Comfort working in varying temperatures in both indoor and outdoor areas.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Forklift experience or certification is preferred and will be utilized after completing required training.
- Shipping, receiving, or inventory control in a warehouse environment.
- Experience working with plumbing supplies or construction materials is a plus.
- Demonstrated reliability and strong work ethic in physically demanding roles.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and organize work areas for efficient order flow.

Work Environment
The position is based in a large warehouse that stores a wide range of plumbing supplies, from 10–15 foot pipes to small bolts and fasteners. Work takes place in both indoor and outdoor areas regardless of weather conditions, so temperatures can be very hot in the summer and very cold in the winter. The role is physically active, involving frequent lifting, carrying, and maneuvering of materials, as well as regular use of RF guns, computers, pallet jacks, forklifts, and push carts. The environment is fast-paced and hands-on, with an emphasis on safety, cleanliness, and keeping the warehouse and staging areas organized.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tigard, OR.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
