Job Summary\n

The Transplant Supervisor RN oversees health staff to encourage patient-centered care, teamwork, and positive outcomes. The position manages operations and productivity, supporting the Nursing Manager in strategizing, implementing, and assessing policies. Responsibilities include budgeting, resource allocation, quality improvement, educational programs, and governance councils to achieve goals.

Essential Functions of the Role\n

  • Manage staff evaluating patients for transplantation. Interview patients and families. Coordinate assessments and evaluations. Review results for accuracy. Work closely with physicians for patient care.
  • \n

  • Supervise monitoring of candidate testing.
  • \n

  • Review tests for issues, abnormalities, changes.
  • \n

  • Coordinate care as directed by physician.
  • \n

  • Ensure effective communication with patients, referral physicians, healthcare providers, transplant team.
  • \n

  • Help patients manage transplant meds post-hospital discharge.
  • \n

  • Ensure calls are returned promptly and offer guidance based on physician's orders.
  • \n

  • Familiarity with standards and procedures for nursing and patient care.
  • \n

  • Knowledge of laws, regulations, standards, and guidelines for nursing care in the assigned area is essential.
  • \n

  • Understanding medical terms and health practices for reducing risks, promoting health, and managing illnesses is important.
  • \n

  • Understanding the effects, common dosages, and possible adverse reactions of medications and drugs.
  • \n

  • Ability to clearly articulate thoughts, both verbally and in writing.
  • \n

  • Ability to deliver quality patient care for all ages, respecting diverse experiences. Skill in creating, assessing, and adjusting care plans.
  • \n

  • Show skill in making team task selections based on guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • \n

  • Basic computer skills are needed, including Microsoft Office, information security, managing schedules and payroll, medical documentation, and email use.

Qualifications

  • Associate Degree.
  • \n

  • Possess a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in the field.
  • \n

  • Registered Nurse (RN).
  • \n

  • (BLS) Basic Life certification within (30) thirty days of hire or transfer to the position.
