Job DescriptionRegistered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Room (Adult)

Location: Bronx, New York
Job Type: Contract (14 Weeks)
Pay Rate: $60.00 - $70.00/hour (Based on Experience)
Weekly Hours: 33 Hours
Shift: Days | 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Schedule: 3 x 11-Hour Shifts

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced Adult Emergency Department. The ideal candidate will possess strong emergency nursing skills, excellent clinical judgment, and the ability to manage high-acuity patients while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.

Required Qualifications

• Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License.

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN/ADN) or higher from an accredited Nursing program.

• Minimum two (2) years of recent Emergency Room experience.

• Strong IV insertion and phlebotomy skills.

• Experience with conscious sedation monitoring and patient care.

• Current AHA BLS Certification.

• Current AHA ACLS Certification.

• Current AHA PALS Certification.

• Current TNCC Certification.

• Primary Source Verification of RN License and Registration through NYSED.

• Excellent critical-thinking, assessment, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in Level I or Level II Trauma Centers.

• Experience working in high-volume urban Emergency Departments.

• Strong rapid decision-making skills in high-acuity environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a high-volume Emergency Department.

• Perform rapid patient assessments, triage, and prioritization of care.

• Administer medications, IV therapy, and emergency treatments.

• Establish IV access and perform phlebotomy procedures.

• Assist with and monitor conscious sedation procedures.

• Respond to trauma, cardiac, and other emergency situations.

• Monitor and document patient conditions accurately and in real time.

• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.

• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge instructions.

• Maintain compliance with infection prevention, patient safety, and emergency department standards.
