Job Summary:

Property Management firm in Manhattan is seeking an experienced Full-time Security Officer with Fire, Life & Safety Director experience. This role will assume responsibility over security of the premises and compliance with fire, life and safety directives.This security role is for the 2nd shift; availability needed is Monday-Friday, 2:00pm - 10:00pm.


Job Specific Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Greets patients of this medical facility and provide direction to the appropriate office during normal office hours.
  • Patrols and monitors areas to ensure safety to tenants, patients and property after hours.
  • Conducts periodic inspections in line with local rules and regulations to identify fire, safety and security risks and implements solutions
  • Reviews, maintains and implements fire prevention, safety, and security plans across facility; conducts fire and non-fire drills, training, etc.
  • Reports suspicious behavior or other emergencies to appropriate authorities
  • Ensures security of the building – routinely inspects windows, doors, gates, security system monitors, etc.
  • Escorts trespassers and other unwelcome parties off premises
  • Drafts and submits reports and work orders related to successful fire, safety and security operations
  • Maintain accurate and detailed log shift notes
  • Performs other related duties as assigned


Basic Requirements:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Able to handle physical requirements (travel safely throughout facility, detain suspect individuals if necessary, lifting., etc.)
  • Valid security guard license
  • Ability to obtain Certificate of Fitness for Fire Life & Safety Director (F89/T89) within 6 months of employ. Current certificate holders and experience as a Fire, Life & Safety Director preferred.
  • Minimum five years related experience in a safety & security position
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
