Job DescriptionPosition: Industrial Painter/Blaster
Overview:
We’re seeking an experienced Industrial Painter to apply high-quality coatings to large industrial components such as pipe, valves, and structural skids. This position requires strong knowledge of industrial coating systems, professional spray-gun experience, and the ability to follow precise mixing ratios and application requirements. Candidates must be able to work independently, meet quality standards, and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and paint large industrial materials, including pipe, valves, fabricated skids, and equipment
• Use spray guns and conventional paint pots to apply a wide range of industrial coatings
• Mix coatings accurately according to technical data sheets and specified ratios
• Apply zinc primers, epoxies, urethanes, and multi-coat systems
• Use a wet mil gauge to verify proper film thickness
• Perform 3-coat above-ground coating systems (primer, mid-coat, topcoat)
• Apply below-ground coating systems such as SPC-2888 or Denso Protal 7200 (plural component systems)
• Maintain spray equipment, hoses, and pots
• Operate overhead cranes and forklifts as needed
• Keep work area clean and follow all safety, PPE, and quality requirements
Qualifications:
• Minimum 4 years of industrial coatings experience
• Experience painting large industrial components (pipe, valves, skids, etc.)
• Proficient with spray guns and conventional paint pot systems
• Strong understanding of industrial coating systems and mixing ratios
• Ability to measure and verify coating thickness using a wet mil gauge
• Experience with zinc, epoxy, and urethane coatings required
• Below-ground coating experience (SPC-2888 or Denso Protal 7200) a plus
• Overhead crane and forklift experience helpful
• Must be able to pass a paint test: mix per data sheet, set up spray pot, and spray test panel
Schedules:
• Train on Day Shift – Monday–Thursday, 6:00am–4:30pm
• Move to Night Shift after training – Monday–Thursday, 4:00pm–2:30am • Weekenders – Friday – Sunday 5:30-6:30
Pay: $19–$24 per hour, depending on experience with $2 shift differential once moved to nights.
