This contract position as a paraprofessional offers the opportunity to work directly with a student in a life skills program at the middle school level. You’ll help foster both academic and daily living skills for a student who benefits from dedicated, compassionate guidance and encouragement.
As a paraprofessional, your skills will be key in supporting the individualized needs of a 1:1 student. Experience as a PCA, LNA, or CNA is welcomed for this rewarding assignment. In addition to academic assistance, this role requires providing freshening (as part of a toileting plan) and attention to appropriate positioning, ensuring the student’s comfort throughout the day.
Desired background and experience:
- Experience working as a paraprofessional or PCA in educational or care settings
- Ability to provide compassionate support with toileting/hygiene and positioning care
- Strong commitment to student dignity, inclusion, and empowerment
- Reliability and effective communication with teachers and support staff
- Willingness to implement individualized academic and care plans
- LNA or CNA credentials are a plus
Daily responsibilities include:
- One-on-one academic support and encouragement
- Assistance with daily living activities, toileting plan, and positioning
- Close collaboration with the life skills program educators
- Monitoring student progress and wellbeing
- Maintaining a positive, welcoming environment
This contract runs from ASAP through June 2026, Monday through Friday, 8:50 a.m. – 3:22 p.m., giving you consistent days while making a daily difference.
