Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) K-12 Educational Setting Washington, DC
A support role in speech and language therapy is available within a K-12 school setting in Washington, DC. This contract position involves assisting licensed Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) to provide speech and munication services to students with diverse needs, enhancing their educational experience and munication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech and language services under the supervision of an SLP, following individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Assist in conducting screenings and evaluations as directed.
- Implement therapy activities designed by the SLP to support students munication development.
- Record and maintain accurate documentation of student progress.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other educational staff to support student outes.
- Prepare materials and set up equipment for therapy sessions.
Desired Qualifications:
- Certification as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) or equivalent credential according to district and state requirements.
- Experience working in K-12 schools preferred.
- Knowledge of speech and language development and therapy techniques.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and work under supervision.
- Strong munication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with educational environments and effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
