Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) K-12 Educational Setting Washington, DC

A support role in speech and language therapy is available within a K-12 school setting in Washington, DC. This contract position involves assisting licensed Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) to provide speech and munication services to students with diverse needs, enhancing their educational experience and munication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver speech and language services under the supervision of an SLP, following individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Assist in conducting screenings and evaluations as directed.
  • Implement therapy activities designed by the SLP to support students munication development.
  • Record and maintain accurate documentation of student progress.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other educational staff to support student outes.
  • Prepare materials and set up equipment for therapy sessions.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Certification as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) or equivalent credential according to district and state requirements.
  • Experience working in K-12 schools preferred.
  • Knowledge of speech and language development and therapy techniques.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and work under supervision.
  • Strong munication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with educational environments and effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
