A registered nurse position is available on a 36-bed Medical-Surgical Oncology Unit focused on adult oncology patients. This role is ideal for experienced nurses ready to provide specialized care in a fast-paced environment. The position offers a contract opportunity starting April 20th, emphasizing high-quality patient care in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care.
  • Administer medications safely and monitor patient responses.
  • Coordinate care across hospital departments and ensure effective communication with patients and families.
  • Float to Med/Surg/Telemetry units as needed.
  • Serve as a patient advocate while collaborating with spiritual, palliative, and ethics teams.
  • Manage care for patients with multi-system organ failure and complex cases.
  • Utilize clinical judgement to respond to rapidly changing patient conditions.
  • Engage in ongoing quality improvement and safety initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Current RN license in appropriate state or compact license.
  • Minimum of 1 year RN experience; 6 months acute care preferred.
  • Certification in BLS and NIH Stroke Scale required.
  • Ability to pass an EKG exam at orientation.
  • Comfortable working 12-hour night shifts, every other weekend, and major holidays.
  • Experience working with oncology patients or in med/surg settings strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency with electronic health records (EPIC preferred).
