Job Title: Construction Superintendent (Midwest Travel)
Pay: $70-90k year
Travel: Midwest travel Monday -Thursday. 3 day weekends!
Job Description
The Superintendent is responsible for the onsite management of construction projects, overseeing personnel, equipment, and subcontracted work to ensure efficient and effective project completion. This role involves coordinating with the project manager and VP of Construction Services to manage schedules, job costs, and quality of work, ensuring profitability and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of the construction project including schedules, cleanliness, safety, manpower, and trade work.
- Manage field employees and trades to ensure work complies with client expectations, project schedule, and specifications.
- Plan and schedule resources effectively.
- Understand project scope before construction begins and maintain ongoing communication with the project team throughout the project.
- Interact professionally with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and city officials, ensuring client expectations are met.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship adhering to original plans and specifications.
- Perform general construction duties such as demolition, framing, finish carpentry, trim work, and drywall as needed.
- Accurately read architectural plans and specifications.
- Manage tools, materials, and equipment on site, ensuring they are returned when needed.
- Identify faulty equipment and ensure it is returned for repair.
- Supervise the punch list process and resolve issues promptly to finish projects effectively.
- Document changes to the scope of work and back charges, ensuring the project manager is informed.
- Submit accurately coded receipts and delivery tickets promptly.
Essential Skills
- Minimum 3 years of experience in commercial construction, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Proven track record managing ground-up commercial projects.
- Experience coordinating subcontractors, vendors, and site logistics.
- Proficiency in framing, cabinetry, door installation, and commercial construction.
- Ability to use hand tools such as tape measures, hammers, and speed squares.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Tech savvy with experience in Procore, Microsoft Outlook, and Google Docs.

Work Environment
Work is conducted on commercial construction sites with 2-10 people, including subcontractors and employees, primarily in Iowa and surrounding states. Projects are mainly in the financial sector, with some in medical facilities and other commercial work. The work schedule is typically 7 am-5:30 pm, Monday through Thursday, with occasional work on Friday mornings. Dress code includes jeans, T-shirts/sweatshirts, and work boots (steel or composite toe not required). Basic hand tools required include pouches, hammers, tape measures, speed squares, and torpedo levels.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $44.00/hr.
