We currently have an immediate opening for a Tool & Die maker with a busy Aerospace company in the city of Commerce, CA. The tool & Die Maker will be responsible for the following.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, construct, and repair machine shop tools, jigs, fixtures, die-sets, gauges, and templates.
- Specialize in progressive die maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Operate all tool room machinery and perform skilled fitting, fabricating, and assembling.
- Use precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges).
- Apply trigonometry and geometry in layout and machining tasks.
- Perform heat treatment of tools and development work with engineers.
- Ensure quality using SPC charting and inspection tools.
- Identify and resolve machining issues promptly.
- Maintain safety and efficiency standards.
Qualifications
- Proficient in reading technical documents and writing routine reports.
- Strong verbal communication and problem-solving skills.
- Able to interpret complex technical instructions and diagrams.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 25 lbs and standing for extended periods.
- Visual acuity for close work, color differentiation, and depth perception.
