A Pediatric practice in Northern Virginia is seeking a Medical Assistant for our 4 Northern Virginia location(s). This is a great opportunity to join an amazing team of professionals and continue your career with our practice.
Hours for the position are 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday-Friday Saturdays 8-12noon as needed
Responsibilities:
- Assist healthcare providers with patient exams and procedures, including obtaining vital signs and preparing instruments for dermatology.
- Administer medications, monitor for adverse reactions, and educate patients on treatment plans.
- Collaborate with medical staff for comprehensive care and maintain accurate patient records for billing.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and medical equipment.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar role within a hospital or clinic setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of physiology and medical terminology is essential for effective communication within the healthcare team.
- Familiarity with coding practices related to outpatient services is beneficial.
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, families and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant is required/preferred.
