A dynamic opportunity is available for an experienced RN with oncology expertise to support a leading acute care hospital in OFallon, MO. This contract position focuses on Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) oncology nursing within a Magnet-recognized, Level I Trauma Center known for its advanced teaching environment and multidisciplinary patient care.
Key responsibilities include managing chemotherapy administration, performing auto stem cell transplants, and interpreting and managing dysrhythmias on oncology units. Nursing staff will float throughout various oncology departments based on unit needs, maintaining a nurse-to-patient ratio of 4:1. Team members can expect an average daily census of 30 patients within a 32-bed setting. Participation in every other weekend shifts is required, along with adherence to safety standards including BCLS certification and passing the Relias EKG exam.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Active RN licensure with at least 1 year of oncology or acute care nursing experience
- Competency in chemotherapy administration and auto stem cell transplant support
- Successful completion of Relias EKG exam for dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- BCLS certification required; chemotherapy certification preferred
- Flexibility to float to different units within the oncology department as needed
- Ability to handle a 12-hour night shift schedule (7 p.m. 7:30 a.m., three shifts per week)
Work Schedule:
- Night shifts: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (19:00 07:30)
- Every other weekend rotation
