Company Description My Launch Pad Academy (MLPA) prepares individuals with developmental disabilities to move confidently into adulthood through real-world experiences and skills training. In a supportive campus environment, Explorers build independence in work, relationships, and everyday life, rather than participating in traditional daycare or college programs. MLPA serves as a launch pad where Explorers develop practical abilities—from culinary arts to computer literacy—that support success beyond the classroom. The academy emphasizes personal goal-setting, ownership of progress, and the development of meaningful friendships. Explorers are encouraged to build confidence and pursue the independent lives they deserve.\n
Role Description The Driver role at My Launch Pad Academy is a part-time, on-site position based in Fairfield, OH. The Driver is responsible for safely transporting Explorers to and from the the program to their homes, following established routes and schedules. Daily activities include conducting pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, maintaining a clean and organized vehicle, and complying with all traffic laws and safety regulations. The Driver will assist Explorers with boarding and exiting the vehicle when needed, support a respectful and calm environment during transport, and communicate clearly with staff and families regarding schedules or changes. Additional responsibilities include completing basic documentation, reporting maintenance needs, and collaborating with the MLPA team to ensure reliable and supportive transportation services.\n

- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Strong communication and customer service skills for interacting with Explorers, families, and staff.
- Commitment to safety and reliability, including adherence to traffic laws and organizational policies.
- Ability to support individuals with developmental disabilities in a respectful, patient, and inclusive manner.
- High school diploma or equivalent; prior experience in transportation or human services is beneficial.
- Ability to pass required background checks, drug screening, and physical/driving evaluations.
- Willingness to work a consistent schedule and collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team.
