Job Summary:
The Dialysis Patient Care Technician provides direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse. This role is responsible for accurate treatment documentation, monitoring dialysis sessions, and supporting emergency responses. The position plays an essential role in ensuring safe, effective, and compassionate dialysis treatment.Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care and assist licensed nurses in dialysis treatment.
- Perform and document pre- and post-dialysis patient assessments.
- Monitor and record dialysis treatment parameters on flow sheets.
- Report patient condition changes or significant findings to supervisors.
- Assist in emergency operational procedures and initiate CPR if needed.
- Support licensed nurses in delivering high-quality, compliant dialysis care.
Required Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Completion of a hemodialysis training course
- CPR certification
Nice-to-Have Experience:
- Prior patient care experience in a hospital or healthcare facility
- Education in physical sciences or laboratory techniques
Required Skills:
- Ability to monitor and document patient data accurately
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Knowledge of CPR and emergency protocols
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in patient care or dialysis support
- Familiarity with clinical documentation practices
Additional Skills:
- Ability to respond to emergencies
- Comfort working under direct supervision in a healthcare setting
