The buyer assistant role with United Refrigeration is a full time position operating out of URI’s corporate HQ in North East Philadelphia. Members of the purchasing team work within an established structure consisting of multiple buyers and buyer’s assistants under a purchasing leader. Buyer Assistants partner closely with assigned buyers as well as cross functional groups within URI including distribution, accounts payable, business unit management and most importantly our customer-facing branch network team. The purchasing team serves as the back bone of URI’s supply chain, a function vital to our success.
Core Responsibilities of a Buyer’s Assistant:
· Work collaboratively with replenishment buyer(s) to build and maintain relationships with assigned product lines
· Assist buyer in maintaining appropriate stock levels for lines managed at multiple distribution centers
· Provide purchasing support for branch network product needs
· Identify and play a key role in reconciling PO’s and resolving discrepancies between suppliers and URI including:
o Vendor PO confirmations
o Open order reconciliations
o Back order tracking
o Shipping error tracing
o Order expediting where necessary
· Evaluate and track multiple vendor metrics including on time delivery, fill rate, product consistency
· Ensure accuracy of product item data and specifications in ERP system including cost, sell price and product descriptions
· Support buyer(s) in efforts surrounding promotions, product roll outs and planograms ensuring on-time and consistent supply

Prior Experience / Qualifications:
· Prior purchasing experience desired
· Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word etc. required
· HVAC/R wholesale experience a plus
· B.A. Supply Chain or related a plus
