The Greer Group has a great direct hire opportunity for a Quality Manager in a manufacturing environment.
Position Summary
The Quality Manager is responsible for overseeing and maintaining all quality assurance and quality control functions within the facility. This role ensures products meet customer specifications, industry standards, and internal quality requirements while promoting continuous improvement throughout production operations. The Quality Manager will lead quality personnel, support production teams, investigate nonconformance issues, and maintain compliance with company and customer standards.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality management systems and procedures
- Oversee incoming, in-process, and final inspection activities
- Ensure compliance with ISO standards, customer requirements, and internal quality policies
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) processes
- Investigate customer complaints, nonconforming materials, and production quality issues
- Monitor key quality metrics and prepare reports for leadership
- Conduct internal audits and support external/customer audits
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to improve product quality and manufacturing processes
- Train and mentor employees on quality standards, procedures, and best practices
- Review and approve quality documentation, inspection records, and work instructions
- Support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean manufacturing and problem-solving methodologies
- Ensure calibration and maintenance of quality inspection and testing equipment
- Participate in new product introduction and process validation activities
- Maintain product traceability and documentation requirements
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement
Qualifications Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or related field preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience required
- ISO 9001 experience strongly preferred
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong understanding of quality systems, inspection methods, and manufacturing processes
- Knowledge of root cause analysis tools and continuous improvement methodologies
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents
- Experience with quality audits, CAPA, and nonconformance investigations
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and quality reporting systems
- Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Strong attention to detail and analytical problem-solving abilities
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Working Conditions
- Manufacturing environment with exposure to moving mechanical parts, and production equipment
- Frequent walking throughout production areas
- Occasional lifting up to 35 pounds
- Ability to sit, stand, bend, and use a computer for extended periods
- May require overtime or flexible hours to support production and quality needs
