Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This opportunity is for a Special Education Teacher to provide dedicated support at an elementary school in Burnsville, MN. This temporary contract covers a leave of absence from March 9 to June 5, 2026, excluding Spring Break from March 16 to 20. The role involves managing a resource program class serving approximately 12 students spanning 2nd, 3rd, and 5th grades with diverse learning needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction and support to students with mild to moderate special education needs in a resource program setting.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to develop and implement effective IEPs.
- Monitor student progress and adjust strategies to meet academic and behavioral goals.
- Maintain detailed records of student performance and communicate regularly with stakeholders.
- Create a positive, inclusive learning environment that fosters student growth.
Qualifications:
- Valid Minnesota teaching license with a Special Education endorsement in one or more areas such as Autism Spectrum Disorders, Developmental Disabilities, Early Childhood, Emotional Behavioral Disorders, Learning Disabilities, or an Academic & Behavioral Strategist (ABS) license.
- Experience working with elementary-aged students across multiple grade levels.
- Strong communication skills and ability to engage with students, families, and educational teams.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism.
Location & Schedule:
- Position is onsite at an elementary school in Burnsville, MN.
- Work hours are 8:10 AM to 4:10 PM, Monday through Friday, totaling 37.5 hours per week.
