Ingredient Manufacturer – Western Indiana
Wage: $43.48/hr + OT (progression to $45.00/hr within 120 days; advancement potential to $54.11/hr)

Position Summary

The Electrical & Instrumentation Technician supports plant reliability by troubleshooting, repairing, calibrating, and maintaining electrical and instrumentation systems across a modern ingredient manufacturing facility. This role requires strong mechanical/electrical aptitude and the ability to work independently or collaboratively to support safe and efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair process instrumentation, 460V 3-phase switchgear, motor control circuits, and 4–20mA loops.
  • Perform calibrations and documentation in ISO 9000 or FDA-regulated environments.
  • Use precision instruments (VOM, oscilloscope, multimeter, calipers, gauges).
  • Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot analyzers, valves, level transmitters, and control systems (HART, PLC ladder logic, DCS/Foxboro).
  • Execute preventive maintenance and document work through CMMS.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, QC, and maintenance teams to optimize plant performance.
  • Support housekeeping, safety compliance, and team communication.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated mechanical/electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Competency in at least 5 areas such as PLC logic, HART calibration, control valve rebuilds, analyzer maintenance, switchgear troubleshooting, etc.
  • Ability to read diagrams, follow SOPs, and use precision tools.
  • Experience in ISO 9000 or FDA environments preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and work at heights; must pass pre-employment physical and drug test.
