About the Role
A respected healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Registered Pharmacist to join its inpatient pharmacy team on the night shift. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals to ensure safe, accurate, and timely medication management while supporting exceptional patient care.
Reporting to Pharmacy leadership, the Registered Pharmacist will review medication orders, evaluate patient medication profiles, verify clinical appropriateness, and ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and pharmacy best practices. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to patient safety and continuous professional growth.
Schedule:

Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

Three nights one week / Four nights the following week

Every other weekend

Rotating holidays
Key Responsibilities

Review and verify physician medication orders for clinical accuracy and patient safety.

Evaluate medication profiles for allergies, interactions, dosing, contraindications, and therapeutic appropriateness.

Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals regarding medication therapy.

Dispense medications accurately while maintaining compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.

Provide pharmaceutical expertise to support optimal patient outcomes.

Maintain accurate documentation within the electronic medical record.

Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives.

Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, leadership, and outstanding customer service.

Support departmental goals while maintaining compliance with all pharmacy standards.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited School of Pharmacy (minimum requirement).

Current New York State Registered Pharmacist license in good standing.

Prior hospital pharmacy experience is required.

Successful completion of hospital and departmental orientation requirements.

Excellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.

Strong knowledge of inpatient pharmacy operations and medication safety practices.

Commitment to quality patient care and continuous professional development.

Annual influenza vaccination is required. No exemptions are available for this position.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in an acute care hospital.
