Position Overview

Employment Type: Part-Time / 1099 Independent Contractor

Compensation: $100.00 – $165.00 per hour (Highly competitive; negotiable based on experience, credentials, and performance)

Schedule: Flexible, part-time hours. Work is primarily performed after school hours and on weekends. Exact hours vary based on caseload, school schedules, and client needs.

Primary Work Settings: School-based settings across NYC boroughs, with potential for weekend sessions in community or home-based environments.
Geographic Locations & Commute
Our agency serves families across New York City. Candidates must be willing and able to commute between the following boroughs to meet client and school needs:

Key Responsibilities

Comprehensive Evaluations: Conduct occupational therapy screenings and standardized assessments to determine baseline functional levels, sensory processing needs, fine/gross motor skills, and daily living skills.

Individualized Treatment Planning: Develop and implement goal-oriented, creative treatment plans tailored to individuals (ages 5–18) on the autism spectrum.

Collaborative Care: Work closely with educators, ABA therapists, behavior analysts, and families to ensure a holistic, cohesive approach to the child's development and behavioral plan.

Therapeutic Intervention: Deliver high-quality, engaging school-based and weekend interventions that focus on emotional regulation, sensory integration, motor planning, and independent living skills.

Documentation & Compliance: Maintain timely, accurate, and confidential clinical notes, progress reports, and documentation in strict compliance with state and agency standards.
Role Requirements
Credentials & Certifications

New York State Licensure: Must be a Registered and Licensed Occupational Therapist (OTR/L) in the State of New York.

NYC Certification: Must hold active certification/clearance to practice within New York City school settings.
Background & Screening

Background Check: Must be willing to undergo a comprehensive background check.

Clean Record: A clean criminal record is strictly required for employment safety compliance.
Travel & Flexibility

Mobility: Ability and willingness to commute reliably between multiple NYC boroughs (Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island, Bronx).

Availability: Flexibility to work after-school hours and weekends as dictated by caseload demands.
Preferred Qualifications

Bilingual Skills: Fluency in Spanish is highly preferred and considered a major plus.

Population Experience: Proven experience working with children on the autism spectrum, neurodivergent youth, or within an interdisciplinary ABA framework.
