SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The HR Generalist position will be pinnacle in supporting all Company Field staff (FS) related items daily. This will encompass working with Supervisors & Managers in successfully achieving Company goals & objectives around hiring, daily timecard accuracy & compliance, policy adherence, training, and safety. This position will play a crucial role in fostering a positive and productive workplace culture, one that ensures the FS members are engaged, well-supported, and feeling they are being developed for future career opportunities. All this while promoting the core values of the Company and assures the Field staff are prepared to meet the growth needs of the organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Daily Payroll Entry Verification:
- Review, on a daily basis, the FS’s timecards to ensure compliance & accuracy.
- Investigate and correct any mistaken entries.
- Support the FS, along with the Supervisors with any clocking in / out needs / training.
- Support Accounting, as needed, with any daily payroll entry issues or needs.
Hiring / Separations:
- Manage the full-cycle recruitment process, including job descriptions and postings.
- Manage candidate screenings & interviews with the Supervisors / Managers.
- Present hire offers and assists in the successful acceptance of such offers.
- Coordinate & manage the onboarding, training, and development plans for the hires.
- Prepare write-ups, warnings, & termination documents as required.
- Handle all termination meetings, along with management, for Field staff employees.
- Coordinate with Accounting in ensuring departed staff are fully paid for hours worked.
Training & Development:
- Assist Supervisors in ensuring all FS have a documented formal check in each quarter.
- Manage Field staff training & development plans with the support of the Supervisors.
- Assist in employee relations matters, including conflict resolution as needed.
- Consult with Company’s internal legal counsel for guidance / assistance when needed.
- Keep all FS employee files current and in compliance at all times.
- Maintain accurate & current job descriptions & development plans for all FS.
Safety:
- Assist the Safety Lead as needed with tracking & documenting incidents in the field.
- Prepare write ups as needed for clarity and transparency with the FS.
- Work with Safety Lead in creating and filing out incident / accident reports.
- Report all “reportable” incidents, accidents, and claims to the Workers’ Compensation (WC) insurance carrier.
- Support WC insurance carrier with requests, along with the Safety Lead, as needed.
Perform other duties, as assigned or needed, in the successful oversight & operations of the Field staff.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- A strong work ethic of being a team player, dedicated, punctual, proactive, & responsible for getting your work done accurately and on time.
- Three (3) to five (5) years in a Human Resources position.
- A minimum of one (1) to two (2) years in some form of Payroll Administration / Processing.
- Experience in such areas as Safety, Workers’ Compensation, Benefits, Employment law, etc. would be a plus.
- Must be able to work independently without daily supervision.
- Ability to quickly identify problem areas or situations, evaluate problem causes, and take appropriate action to resolve problems identified.
- Ability to coordinate, prioritize and manage multiple tasks, and set deadlines, while maintaining high productivity.
- Strong verbal, written, and inter-personal communication skills.
- Ability to always maintain confidentiality and discretion.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
- Ability to comfortably work with software and apps on a desktop, laptop, iPhone, and/or iPad.
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Paychex Flex or relatable payroll application/system.
- Quick learner and ability to figure things out on your own.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Ability to speak & communicate fluently as well as read & write in Spanish is mandatory.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to sit for periods of time as standard of an office environment job. The position also requires the ability to lift up to 20 lbs., unaided.
