Qualifications
- Current RN licensure in the state of employment
- BLS required before patient contact
- ACLS required within 6 months for step-down and ICU areas
- Unit-specific certifications may be required
- Commitment to continuous learning and accurate EMR documentation
Key Responsibilities
- Assess patients: Evaluate physical, emotional, spiritual, and educational needs while collaborating with the healthcare team.
- Develop care plans: Work with patients and families to create personalized care plans that prioritize patient needs and goals.
- Deliver patient care: Provide evidence-based care, educate patients and families, and implement interventions according to hospital policies and procedures.
- Evaluate outcomes: Monitor patient responses and adjust care based on outcomes and evidence-based practices.
- Drive improvement: Work with the Clinical Manager to develop and evaluate Performance Improvement initiatives and support better patient outcomes.
- Promote High Reliability: Use High Reliability principles and data to improve patient care and operational efficiency.
- Lead and mentor: Motivate, educate, delegate, and mentor peers and team members while effectively managing patient care.
- Document care: Accurately document the nursing process, plan of care, education, updates, and patient and family responses in the EMR.
- Maintain compliance: Follow organizational and department policies and complete required training and educational requirements.
