Assistant Teacher (Full-Time & Part-Time schedules available)

The Learning Experience of Astoria is seeking dedicated, reliable, and experienced Assistant Teachers to join our growing team. We are looking for individuals who have a genuine passion for early childhood education and who are committed to supporting young children in a nurturing, developmentally appropriate environment.
Position Overview:
Assistant Teachers support Lead Teachers in carrying out our curriculum, maintaining a safe and organized classroom, and ensuring that every child receives high-quality care and guidance. This role requires professionalism, responsibility, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team-focused environment.
Responsibilities Include:

Assisting in the implementation of daily curriculum activities and routines

Supporting the Lead Teacher in creating an engaging and age-appropriate learning environment

Supervising children at all times and ensuring their safety

Building warm, supportive relationships with children and families

Maintaining classroom cleanliness, organization, and compliance with center policies

Communicating effectively with staff and parents

Assisting with meals, diapering, toileting, and transitions as needed
Qualifications:

Experience working with young children (required)

Strong reliability and a consistent work ethic

Ability to follow classroom routines and support curriculum activities

Professional, positive, and team-oriented attitude

Ability to lift, bend, and actively engage with children throughout the day
