Receiving Specialist – Pasadena, TX
Pay Rate: $25 per hour
We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Receiving Specialist to join our Operations team in Pasadena, TX. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate inventory management, timely receiving of materials, and seamless coordination between Purchasing, Sourcing & Planning, and Warehouse Operations.
Position Summary:
The Receiving Specialist will be responsible for matching incoming receiving paperwork with Purchase Orders, verifying shipments, and accurately entering receipts into the company ERP system (GP). This role also supports delivery scheduling, inventory control, and general warehouse coordination to ensure operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with Purchasing to match receiving documentation with Purchase Orders
- Review packing lists from warehouse supervisor and verify accuracy against POs
- Enter and post receipts into GP ERP system after verification
- Identify and report receiving discrepancies, damaged goods, or paperwork issues to Purchasing immediately
- Assist in scheduling incoming deliveries with Purchasing and Warehouse Supervisor
- Support inventory management, cycle counts, and physical inventory reconciliation
- Assist Warehouse Supervisor with occasional plant/warehouse tasks as needed
- Process logistics documentation including invoices, bills of lading, and related paperwork
- Maintain accurate records and support ongoing inventory control processes
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail
- Strong time management and ability to meet deadlines
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
- Ability to prioritize and support multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work cross-functionally with teams
- Understanding of materials, inventory systems, and business operations preferred
Education & Experience:
- Associate degree in a related field required
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a related receiving, inventory, or operations role required
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting and computer work
- Ability to work in warehouse environments with temperatures ranging from 35°ree;F to 90°ree;F
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs as needed
- Forklift experience is a plus
- Must be able to access all areas of the facility as needed
