POSITION SUMMARY:
Trean Corporation is seeking a highly organized professional to support the Legal & Compliance Department through administrative, operational, and cross-functional legal support. This role provides broad departmental assistance and reliable backup coverage across key legal functions.
Description
- Support the Legal & Compliance team by coordinating workflows, tracking tasks, and ensuring continuity across shared workstreams.
- Provide administrative support for core legal operations, which include contract administration, service of process handling, corporate governance, and regulatory filings.
- Assist with project tracking by monitoring deadlines, maintaining calendars, updating progress tools, and providing light project-management support.
- Prepare and format documents, templates, presentations, reports, and correspondence for attorneys and leadership.
- Maintain organized electronic files and record-keeping systems to support department efficiency.
- Receive and route service of process items and, as needed, coordinate subpoena and records-request responses under guidance of in-house counsel.
- Assist business units in identifying and managing risks related to legal and regulatory requirements affecting transactional policies and procedures under guidance of in-house counsel.
- Provide limited litigation support, including organizing case materials, maintaining a litigation calendar, and assisting with collections and bankruptcy notices and tracking.
- Provide administrative support for corporate governance activities, including maintaining records, preparing materials, gathering documents for entity filings, and assisting with regulatory submissions.
- Support Board, committee, and internal corporate meetings by assisting with logistics, materials preparation, and follow-up tasks.
- Conduct basic legal research and compile summaries under attorney supervision.
- Coordinate with business units to gather information, route requests, and support cross-functional projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook preferred).
- 4–7 years of experience supporting a legal department, compliance team, or similar professional services environment.
- Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail and the ability to balance multiple priorities.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
