About the role
We are seeking a detail-oriented, multi-skilled and motivated Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team who is compassionate with a patient-focused attitude. The Medical Assistant will work closely with physicians by performing a mix of clinical tasks and document patient encounters in real time, ensuring accurate and thorough medical records. This role is ideal for individuals in healthcare careers or nursing pathways.
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures and assist physicians during examination, if needed.
- Record patient medical history, vital signs, and test results accurately.
- Enter information into the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system accurately and efficiently.
- Administer injections, perform basic lab tests, and collect specimens.
- Maintain exam room cleanliness.
- Assist physicians with chart preparation, test ordering, and patient flow management.
- Communicate professionally with patients and healthcare staff.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations and other healthcare regulations.
- Support billing documentation when required.
- Order and maintain medical supplies and equipment
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework in healthcare preferred.
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program (CMA, RMA, or CCMA).
- Current CPR certification.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
- Excellent typing speed and accuracy.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Prior experience in medical assisting is a plus.
