Position Summary:

The Admissions Representative supports recruiting and admissions management for the Goodwill Career and Technical Academy's (GCTA) healthcare, skilled trades and technical programs. This position will support the GCTA in meeting enrollment and educational goals in line with the Eligible Training Provider System and Goodwill Central Texas standards.

The Admissions Representative is responsible for recruiting, screening and approving potential students; and tracking and maintaining student information and enrollment documentation. This position requires an individual with a strong customer service orientation, flexibility, superior time management skills and an aptitude for working collaboratively with students, team members, and community partners. The Admissions Representative should possess strong interpersonal skills and be detail-oriented and self-motivated.

Role & Responsibilities:

Student Recruitment and Admissions Management:

  • Lead and conduct recruiting activities, such as regularly facilitating meetings with internal staff and engaging in community events.
  • Create a community engagement strategy aimed at boosting enrollment in targeted classes.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for English as a Second Language and Adult Basic Education courses and select occupational training courses.
  • Lead designated class orientations; this includes reviewing policies and procedures with students; responsible for managing student files and performing background checks.
  • Continuously and proactively engage applicants to facilitate their successful enrollment into the GCTA; this includes interviewing, screening for eligibility, administering entrance exams and performing background and reference checks.
  • Document and monitor all recruiting and admissions activities according to established quality, quantity, timeliness, and ethical standards to demonstrate growth of program.
  • Accurately enter and maintain client data and case notes in a case management system, ensuring information is up-to-date, complete, and in compliance with organizational standards; regularly review and update records to support program reporting, service tracking, and outcome evaluation.

Administrative Support:

  • Address phone, email, and walk-in inquiries by providing information or directing individual to the appropriate contact person.
  • Provide front desk support as needed.
  • Assist with special events such as experience days, orientation, and graduations.

Other Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain professional and cooperative working relationships with all stakeholders: clients, staff and partners.
  • Collaborate across departments to help with furthering the mission.
  • Maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Comply with policies established by federal and state law and local board policy.
  • Flexibility to work the occasional evening or weekend is required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree or equivalent experience in related field. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Demonstrate high degree of professionalism and customer service orientation.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Products.
  • Effective at multi-tasking; demonstrate flexibility and adaptability.
  • Ability to gather and analyze data to make informed decisions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • 2 years’ experience in a recruiting or admissions role.
  • Bilingual preferred.
