Overview

Reporting to the Learning and Engagement Manager, the Learning and Engagement Specialist is responsible for facilitation of training and coordinates the administrative aspects of training and development programs and initiatives, including scheduling, report preparation and other details relating to event execution for corporate Team Members. The position will support an environment for professional growth and development for all Team Members of Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sacramento at Fire Mountain.


Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Creates an atmosphere that induces guests to make Hard Rock Sacramento at Fire Mountain their choice for gaming entertainment; responsible for actively building and retaining guest relations and acts as a mentor to team members in order to provide superior guest service.
  • Partner with management to identify training and development needs in order to deliver programs that support company goals and objectives.
  • Conduct training sessions for hard and soft skill development, as well as, brand programs including, but not limited to: Brand Induction, Amplified Service, and Leadership Development.
  • Familiarity with current training and development performance strategies and effective training methodologies, resources and tools for education and training purposes.
  • Develop lesson plans and instructional methods for individual training, group instruction, demonstrations and workshops.
  • Responsible for set up, clean up and maintenance of the training room. Ensure proper care, use and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
  • Participate in assignments related to training team projects and events.
  • Develops strong relationships with all business functions and determines training and development needs consistent with business objectives.
  • Track, measure and monitor the completion and effectiveness of training and development programs, using appropriate metrics/resources, (surveys, questionnaires, roundtables, forums), to track results and prepare reports for management.
  • Ensure activities comply with relevant statutory and regulatory requirements, legal demands and professional and ethical standards; comply with all internal policies and procedures.
  • Conduct personal behavior that reinforces the Company’s Mission, Mottos and Values.
  • Facilitates training & development programs for existing and new hotel and casino opening(s) globally as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

EDUCATION AND /OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

(Related education and experience may be interchangeable on a year for year basis)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources and/or instructional design, performance technology or related area and two (2) years directly related experience developing and facilitating adult education/training courses or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office programs.
  • Prior gaming and/or hospitality experience preferred.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with Senior-level management including C-Suite executives.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills, have a strong attention to detail and be extremely organized.
  • Enthusiastic leadership skills, as well as excellent written, oral communication and platform presentation skills are required.
  • Ability to prioritize work, to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of staff, to work independently and to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in applying and interpreting a variety of human resources and departmental policies and procedures.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: (Licenses, Certifications, Testing, etc):

  • Must obtain and maintain valid licenses / certifications per Federal, State, and Gaming/Lottery regulations.
  • Prior experience in the Gaming industry strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience in Tribal Gaming preferred.
  • Must be twenty-one (21) years of age.
