Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) degree, active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license, and 1+ years Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A licensed Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) is needed to provide support in a K-8 school district located in Buena Park, CA. This contract position requires approximately 14 hours per week, with a flexible schedule predominantly on Mondays and Tuesdays, aligning with team service days. The role offers an opportunity to collaborate closely with the districts Occupational Therapist, who will provide supervision throughout the contract.

Location: Buena Park, California
Position Type: Contract (ASAP through May 22)
Schedule: Flexible (Monday and Tuesday preferred, not Thursdays)
Caseload: Approximately 20-30 students, to be determined once schedule is set
Sites: Likely Pendleton and Whitaker, site selection to be determined by assigned OT

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver occupational therapy support to students in grades K-8 under the supervision of the districts Occupational Therapist
  • Collaborate with the OT to develop and implement individualized therapy schedules and plans
  • Provide direct student services mainly on designated days, ensuring occupational therapy goals are met
  • Maintain documentation and communicate progress effectively within the school setting

Preferred Qualifications/Experience:

  • Valid COTA certification with experience in school-based occupational therapy settings
  • Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Demonstrated skills in designing and delivering occupational therapy services to children in a group or individual setting
